Forty-five students and four advisers from 12 public and private colleges and universities around the state came to Madison on Friday, April 23, to learn reporting techniques, interview higher education experts and participate in a news conference with the governor.

Judging will be done in three categories & four media**

Awards will be going to entries from public 4-year, public 2-year and private school participants.

First place awards will receive $100, second place $50 and third place $25.

Each entry will be reviewed by a panel of experienced journalists and evaluated according to the following criteria:

First place awards will receive $100, Second place $50 and third place $25.

** NOTE: You may include an explanation of size of staff, budget, resources, and any historical information about your school/organizations' background regarding journalism.

The John Patrick Hunter Award, courtesy of The Daily Cardinal Alumni Association, will be given for the contribution the judges recognize as deserving special recognition.
